Canadian Pacific Holiday Train
Original Painting - Acrylic on Canvas 12x16
The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is North
America's longest rolling food bank fundraiser and since it started
in 1999, the program has raised close to $9.5 million and 3.3 million
pounds of food. I’ll be there to watch it arrive in Sturtevant Wisconsin
on December 7th. It’s on the same day as my class Art Show
Reception, but should be able to attend both. What a great way to start the
holiday season!

Old Water Tower Milwaukee
Original Painting - Acrylic on Canvas 20x16
Milwaukee's old North Point Water Tower is this years choice for my annual holiday painting. I can remember riding past the tower as a youngster. I always thought it looked like a storybook castle...I still do. In the 60's it was often used for war protests and other rallies. The eastside location and proximity to the University of Wisconsin contributed to the popularity of the site for gatherings. This historic Milwaukee landmark was built in 1874.

American Classic
(Click on painting to enlarge image)
Okay, I know this is a corny and overly sentimental theme ...a nostalgic Christmas card rendition of a snow covered village complete with horse drawn sleigh. I'm not apologizing, because that's exactly what I was going for in this tribute to an idealized Currier & Ives type of snow scene. Sometimes a sugary sweet is just what you crave and this has been an unusual Wisconsin winter without much snow. snow scene canvas prints

Milwaukee's North Point Lighthouse
Each year I paint a special holiday scene to share with my family, friends, and collectors. This year I chose North Point Lighthouse, a Milwaukee landmark. Perched on top of the bluffs over Lake Michigan it provided a guiding light for sailors just like the star guiding the wisemen in the Christmas story. Happy Holidays everyone! Available from the artist $600.00

The Pack
In Wisconsin "The Pack" usually refers to our football team, but this is a more primitive group of team mates. They say today's domestic dogs are descended from wolves, but there is nothing domestic about this she-wolf of the frozen tundra.

Towers in the Snow
This is first in a series of "tree" studies that were used for demonstration and teaching purposes for my students at River Birch Gallery. It reminded me of church spires. SOLD Prints of this painting are still available.

Snow for Christmas!
I started this painting last night as the snow piled up outside the gallery and finished it this afternoon to the sound of snowblowers. This is a typical winter evening in Wisconsin ...what's all that about global warming? winter scene canvas prints

Christmas Morning
I wanted to show the dawn of winter morning with the warm yellow sunlight breaking through the snow covered trees and lighting up a secluded forest stream. I titled it "Christmas Morning" because the best gift of all is a new day. Available from the artist for $950.00.

Snowfall in Cathedral Square - Milwaukee
The Cathedral of Saint John is a Milwaukee landmark and just east of the small city park. In the summer Jazz in the Park is held here and in the winter it's decorated with lights and holiday displays. We like to take a ride downtown to see the lights during the holiday season. Available from the artist for $950.00

Moonscape
This painting almost painted itself. I was in the zone, music playing and my brush just danced across the surface of the canvas until it was finished. I think I heard the frigid winds howling over the snow covered mountain while the baleful moon glowed above. I'm glad this wasn't a Plein Air painting. Available from the artist for $800.00
