Milwaukee's Calatrava by Moonlight

Original Painting - Acrylic on canvas 16x20
The Calatrava design of the Milwaukee Art Museum is a spectacular achievement in beauty and engineering. The Quadracci Pavillion and the open "wings" of the Burke Brise Soleil face the cold glow of the full moon over lake Michigan.

Chicago Moon

Original Painting - Acrylic on Canvas 30x40
A full moon over Chicago with the John Hancock Center in the foreground was a challenge and a learning experience. The moon was added midway through the painting and it controlled the painting from that point on. The sparkle and glitter of the city at night plus the moody sky combined for a dramatic show. Sometimes a painting lets you know what it needs if you just look and ask ...what if ? I'm glad I did. city scenes prints

Full Moon on Halloween Lane

Original Painting - Acrylic on canvas 20x16
My kids, all grown up now, inspired this painting. From left to right are; Tanya, Gina, and Scott.

The kids are not so sure they want to trick-or-treat at the spooky house down the lane. Can't say I blame them. halloween paintings

Moonlight Bay

Original Painting - Acrylic on canvas 12x16

I painted this for my Dad. He is 97 years old and wanted a new painting for his room. I know how much he loved spending time at his lake cottage and I remember that he would often sing (off key) a song called "Moonlight Bay" whenever he took us on an evening lake cruise. NFS

Snow Moon

Original Painting - Acrylic on Canvas 9x12

Since the heaviest snow usually falls in the month of February, Native American tribes of the north and east called this month's full moon the Snow Moon. We just dug out from the Blizzard of 2011 in Wisconsin and I gotta say the name seems very appropriate. $600.00

Moonscape

Original painting - Acrylic on canvas 12x16

This painting almost painted itself. I was in the zone, music playing and my brush just danced across the surface of the canvas until it was finished. I think I heard the frigid winds howling over the snow covered mountain while the baleful moon glowed above. I'm glad this wasn't a Plein Air painting. Available from the artist for $800.00

Halloween Night, "Trick-or-Treat"

Trick-or-Treat
Original painting - Acrylic on stretched canvas 16x20
I love Halloween and the fall of the year. I remember the good old days when kids would go Trick-or-Treating at night. It was fun and spooky and I wanted to capture that feeling again.

Surrealism and Fantasy, "Rocket Kitty"

Rocket Kitty
24x30 Original - Acrylic on stretched canvas
Rocket Kitty is the name of a game my brother Roger invented that involves house cats, countdowns, and launches. Enough said! Here our drama queen shivers on an asteroid orbiting in space, unaware that her cat is caught in the gravitational pull of a moon. She should have kept a tight grip on the leash. Available from the artist for $1200.00.
