Finch

Original Painting - Acrylic on canvas 12x16

I painted this little guy as a class demonstration for our "birds" session. The soft background and blurred edges were my goal, plus contrasting the hot yellow color against a cool blue-green backdrop.

Tom Shropshire - Contemporary Impressionist: Burlington, Wisconsin, Midwest, United States; I am a Contemporary Impressionist Painter. I am primarily known for my impressionistic night city scenes. They have become my signature style and are very popular with my collectors. I also paint more traditional subjects that I call, “Traditional with a twist”, because I sometimes include unexpected elements to add a little mystery or fantasy to my paintings.
